Dave Sharp B.Sc.
Founding Partner – Lighthouse Wealth Management
After growing up in nearby Campbellford, Dave graduated from the University of Toronto with a B.Sc. diploma in 1975. Dave spent the next 18 years in the chemical sales & service field working his career up to role as V.P. of Sales and Marketing for a multi-million dollar chemical firm. The company was sold in 1993 and he opted to consider a career change and so joined London Life in summer of 1993 in the Belleville-Campbellford-Cobourg corridor.

As a big believer in continuing education, Dave became fully qualified with various licences and accreditations such as the Certified Financial Planners (CFP) designation (this is like having a Masters Degree in personal, business and estate financial needs); his Elder Planning Counselor Designation (EPC) designation (meaning he took extensive courses on working with Elders – not only with their financial assets but Elders in all the physiological and psychological characteristics they have); and even a “Certified Executor Advisor” designation, known as “CEA”. However, in 2022; Dave opted not to renew these various designations and instead, work as a support person in the background.

All of this additional knowledge supplemented his career expertise.. Technology, taxation, complexity of assets, new family dynamics, sweeping new legislation and risk of personal litigation has created a perfect storm for today’s families. As Advisors and Consultants, our role has always been to ensure things run “smoothly” in our client’s financial world.

Contributing back to the community has always been important to Dave. He can claim he has been a Rotarian (since 1994) & is a Past President (1997-98; 2012-2013 and 2022-23); he was a Past Assistant District Governor of Rotary’s District 7070 (2007-08). He has held the position of Secretary at both the Rotary Club of Brighton and the Rotary Club of Campbellford and is still very active in the operation of the Campbellford Rotary Club.

Dave was also active in the Brighton & District Chamber of Commerce (1998-2003 and President in 2000-2002). In 2007, when the Friends of Presqu’ile Park needed help in fundraising for their Marsh Board Walk project, Dave through his associations with Lighthouse Wealth Management was able to obtain a substantial contribution from Freedom 55 Financial as a corporate sponsor. In 2011, Dave was highly instrumental in fundraising that resulted in the construction of a splash pad for the youngsters here in Brighton. In late 2012, a new association was formed to restore the local lighthouse and Dave was right there from the beginning as a Marketing Director and then, Chairperson for many years for the Presqu’ile Point Lighthouse Preservation Society. No wonder, Dave was bestowed the honour of the “2015 Citizen of the Year”.

Dave has been married to his wife, Jean, since 1973. Not surprisingly, the entire family are huge 5 Pin Bowling fans and are avid summer campers often involving the two granddaughters; one grandson and one great-granddaughter who all hold a special spot in Dave’s heart.

Today, as the Founder and Senior Managing Partner of Lighthouse Wealth Management, Dave works as part of the Lighthouse team in homes and businesses, that are interested in protecting and maximizing what they have worked hard to establish from both ongoing insurance and investment risk management and estate planning issues.

Gary Sharp B.Sc., EPC
VP – Client Services – Lighthouse Wealth Management
FINANCIAL SECURITY ADVISOR, ELDER PLANNING COUNSELOR
INVESTMENT REPRESENTATIVE

Gary graduated from University of Guelph with a B.Sc. but after watching his father enjoy the freedom (and responsibilities) of an entrepreneur, he decided to take the path of being his own boss. Thus, he and a business partner opened up Presqu’ile Lanes and Family Restaurant in 2000. Although Gary and his partner decided to free up some time by closing the restaurant portion, Presqu’ile Lanes is doing quite well providing 5-Pin Bowling programs for hundreds of people in Brighton. He has found out that success only comes with hard work. In 2005, they were awarded “Business Owner of the Year For Small Businesses” which is presented by our local Chamber of Commerce.

In early 2013, Gary opted to become fully licensed as a Financial Security Advisor and so, began working under Dave here at Lighthouse Wealth Management. His responsibility is the servicing and promotion of our various financial products in our clientele base. Gary has successfully completed his Elder Planning Counselor designation (EPC), which focuses on working with clients aged 55 and over. Today, as a  full Partner of Lighthouse Wealth Management, Gary works predominantly in the family market working with those interested in protecting family incomes and providing a road map for their financial future.

Gary has been to the National 5-pin Bowling Championships twice, representing Ontario by coming home with gold and silver metals. When not bowling in various 5-Pin Bowling tournaments (he was a team member that won the Master Bowler’s Association Canadian championships in 2004); he enjoys fishing, camping and travelling to various destinations.

Mitchell MacLean
Financial Security Advisor

Mitchell graduated from George Brown College with an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing. With a strong interest in helping others reach their goals and a passion for financial literacy, he found his calling in the financial services industry at a young age. Beginning with years of customer service; he found his first step into the financial services industry, by joining Royal Bank of Canada, (Campbellford) where he spent two years working as a Client and Banking Advisor. At this role, he supported clients with their day-to-day banking; credit; investment; and estate needs.

In 2024, Mitchell became a fully licensed Mutual Fund Representative through the Canadian Securities Institute, and in December 2025, he successfully completed the Harmonized Life License Qualification Program (HLLQP), becoming a fully licensed Financial Security Advisor. His want to help others on every step of their financial journey left him dissatisfied with the solutions available at a retail bank so it was time to consider a more boutique environment.

Mitchell joined Lighthouse Wealth Management because of its smaller size (relative to the bank) and its values related to families. He wants to continue building meaningful client relationships while providing personalized financial strategies for individuals and families in our community. He takes pride in helping clients feel confident about their financial future; whether that means saving for retirement, investing wisely, or protecting family income and of course, preserving the Estate that can be created.

Beyond his professional work, Mitchell has been an active member of his community. Since 2022; he has served multiple roles and is the current President of the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation of Campbellford/Seymour and Northumberland, where he contributes to strategic planning, financial oversight, and brand development. His volunteer involvement with the Foundation began informally in 2017, assisting with fundraising events, administrative support, and youth engagement initiatives.

Outside of work, Mitchell enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active, and connecting with friends and family. He also takes a keen interest in community involvement and continuous learning, always striving to bring a positive, thoughtful approach to everything he does.
